Overlooking Gare Loch on the edge of Camsail Bay,Scotland, GM Design Associates were commissioned to develop a major mixed use scheme on a 3.68 ha former Military of Defence site with prime waterfront location on the outskirts of Rosneath, Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

Planning approval was obtained for formation of a mooring basin, 9 no. dwellings with ‘live-work’ space, 45 no. townhouses, 121 no. apartments, 2 no. workshop units, 1 no. restaurant, retail units and associated public realm works including walkways, public square, a children’s play area and landscaping.

The scheme presented many challenging and complex issues, such as land contamination, sea defence and sustainability.
